How to Use the Words Here and There In Spanish

Broadly speaking, in English  something or someone can be in one of two places: here or there. In Spanish, there are three relative locations or places of position. Those locations are aquà ­, roughly the equivalent of here; ahà ­, roughly the equivalent of there when speaking of an object or action that is close to the person being spoken to; and allà ­, roughly the equivalent of there or over there when speaking of an object that is distant from both the speaker and the person being spoken to. Grammatically, all of these words are known as  adverbs of place or position. These words can also substitute as pronouns in a sentence. In Spanish, all these forms have an accent mark over the final vowel. Regional Differences With Here, There and Over There In some parts of Latin America, you may hear  acà ¡ for here and  allà ¡Ã‚  for over there, instead of, or in addition to, aquà ­, allà ­, and ahà ­. You may also find some subtle variations in how these terms are used in different regions.   A memorization technique is to remember these adverbs in order from  closest to farthest: aquà ­ (acà ¡), ahà ­, and allà ­ (allà ¡). In most situations,  acà ¡ is synonymous with  aquà ­,  and you will find that some countries use  acà ¡Ã‚  more frequently, while some Spanish speakers exclusively use  aquà ­. Differentiating Between Use Cases Although allà ­ and ahà ­ can sound similar in regions where the double-l,  ll, which sounds like a y sound, is softened and often translated the same in English, do not to confuse the two words. As examples, if you ask a native Spanish speaker,  ¿Quà © pasa ahà ­?, which means,  Whats happening there? then the person will likely look in his or her vicinity. Demonstrative Adjectives Corresponding With Place Adverbs Place adverbs can roughly correspond to demonstrative adjectives and pronouns. The adverbs aquà ­, ahà ­, and allà ­ correspond to the demonstratives este, ese, and aquel, respectively. There are multiple forms depending on gender and number. Place Adverb Demonstrative Adjectives aqu, ac este (this), esta (this), ste (this one), estos (these), estas (these) ah ese (that), esa (that), se (that one), esos (those), esas (those) all, all aquel (that over there), aqul (that one over there), aquella (that over there), aquellos (those over there), aquellas (those over there). Place Adverbs That Substitute as Pronouns As in English, place adverbs can occasionally be used as pronouns. Here and there stand in as place nouns. A couple examples include:  Los dulces de aquà ­ son muy caros, which means, The candy from here is very expensive, and Desde allà ­ puede ver el lago, which means,  From there you can see the lake. Tricky Translations When translating, the meaning of a Spanish sentence, beware getting tripped up by the existential use of the verb haber, the conjugated form hay, meaning there is or there are. It is easy to confuse allà ­ meaning, there, with the existential use of haber, such as using hay to mean there is or there are. For example, Hay dos libros and Dos libros està ¡n allà ­ can both be translated as, There are two books. The two sentences in Spanish do not mean the same thing. Hay dos libros means two books exist, while dos libros està ¡n allà ­ means, two books are in that location. Nonlocational Usage for Adverbs of Place These adverbs occasionally used in time references, meaning something like at this time or at that time  Ã¢â‚¬â€ or, informally, now and then.  Two examples:  De aquà ­ en adelante, todo es desconocido. (From now going ahead, everything is unknown.) Hasta allà ­ todo estaba bien. (Until then, everything was fine.) He was a whirlwind. A terribly beautiful hurricane of chaos, drawing from the strength of the sea and moving swiftly through lives, taking what he needed and leaving meager gifts in turn. We all just felt blessed to receive a visit. People like that- charismatic, manipulative, powerful- will make you feel that way. We find heterogeneity in growth patterns of different firms addressing different motive of entrepreneurial growth. The first pattern I found while studying different sized enterprises is the motives of growth (Voss Voss, 2013). This explains the reasons of growth for the entrepreneurial firms. The high ambition and risk taking behavior push firms toward achieving a higher growth rate. The decision regarding growth is driven from characteristics of enterprises (Davidsson, Achtenhagen Naldi, 2006). Other factors, which I think important for growth pattern,are environmental factors, resources, need for ac hievement, and structure of the organization, resource availability and contextual framework of the industry Stevens and Gumpert pursue the view that identification of favorable circumstances is not enough to ensure entrepreneurial growth. Promoters are able to identify quickly the available opportunity. In contrast, commitment from trustees side is time consuming and is made for long time. Trustees make very slow movement and hence, promoters are believed to grow faster as compared to trustees (Stevenson Gumpert, 1985). Penrose provided a simplistic view of organization growth. Growth is explained in reference to growth of any living organism. No organism can grow without proper environment, resource and sometimes-external factors are needed for proper growth. The entrepreneurial growth is subject to availability of resources, capacity of growth and design of suitable strategy. In the ecosystem, growth of plant requires micronutrients in soil, water, sunlight and air (DeAngelis, 2018). In context of business organization, organic or internal growth implies firms growth within the organization. Different strategies for internal growth of organizations include development of new range of products, introduction of new products to the international market, expanding operation to new location and exploring capacity of business with investment in new technology or making capital investment (Deresky, 2017). As plants requires proper resources or environment for its growth, enterprises require supply of inputs and competitive environment for its growth. I have found some companies that are experiencing an internal growth successfully. Examples include Dominos, Costa coffee and Apple (Stevenson Gum pert, 1985). Intensive studies of entrepreneurial growth reveals that innovation is one important aspect of entrepreneurial growth. I have come across the concept of resource-based approach in this field. The Resource based approach evaluates how firms can attain and sustain their competitive advantage by exploring resources (Hitt, Xu Carnes, 2016). We can relate the resource based view with development of social capital and theories of innovation and in the evaluation of enterprise growth as well as strength of the organization (Pettus, 2001). The idea points towards need for resources to attain a sustainable growth of enterprises. Innovation that prepares a smooth path of growth requires investment in forms of capital investment and investment in human resources. Investment in human resource and human resource management is important for stimulating innovation. Human resource containing a skilled workforce influences creativity. When knowledge is shared among workers in the organization, productivity automatically enhanced (Snell, Morris Bohlander, 2015). During my internship in IKEA, one of the leading companies in Sweden I came across Human Resource Management practice of the company. The company out heavy weightage on empowerment of employees. A survey conducted on IKEA employees shows that almost all workers are committed towards their working culture (Stadtler, 2015). A well-designed systematic HRM practice is one factor that has brought success for the company. Penrose (1995) in his paper had discussed factors causing limit to growth. The paper developed by Penrose scrutinized causes and limits of organization growth. Some of the relevant factors are present within the company while some are external factors. The internal factors inhibiting firms growth include lack of access to capital or unfavorable condition of demand. Change in firms technology is one of internal factor affecting growth (Fernndez-Olmos Ramrez-Alesn, 2017). There are external factors as well that limits growth. The need to conduct research and planning prior to expansion limit the extent of expansion. The limited availability of management service in another factor limiting growth (Penrose, 1955). This actually refers to presence of experienced personnel in the enterprise. Firms even when have perfectly elastic supply of all other important factors of production only grow up to a limit because of lack of efficient management service (Buckley Casson, 2016). Growth in the business organization can be recognized through two channels- channel of internal or organic growth and channel of external growth. Organic or internal growth depends on firms internal resource and is a relatively slow process (Favaro, Meer Sharma, 2012). External growth on the other hand depends on others companies resources. The internal growth strategy includes market penetration strategy, product development and diversification strategy to mitigate risk. Mergers and joint ventures are part of external growth strategy. A business can merge with another business in two ways- takeovers or acquisition and amalgamation (Gerpott Neubauer, 2016). In acquisition one company buys major shares of another and take control of the firm. While amalgamation is when two or more than two firms join and operate as a single entity (Kreutzer, 2012). The strategy of joint venture refers to decision of two or more firms to jointly set up a new business firm in order to explore greater opportunity. The organism growth like for a tree or any living organism a visible growth is indicated from change in amount or size. Similarly, growth of enterprise is reflected from measures like growth of employment, profit margin, volume of sales, financial performance indicators such as return on equity and return on assets (Achtenhagen, Naldi Melin, 2010). The performance tool in most companies now evaluated using balance score card. The company which I worked for uses this tool for performance analysis. However, there is little concern regarding particular growth measures and it is always suggested adapt multiple growth measures to assess the overall level of growth (Delmar, Davidsson Gartner, 2003). I completely agree with the proposition that growth of enterprise leads to development and brings creativity in the organization, which is discussed during this course. While researching on entrepreneurial growth, I have found that heterogeneity exists in firms productivity and performance and there are different ways of attaining growth. What individual company can do is to identify their strength and explore that strength to attain growth. One way is to invest in research and development to improve quality of their product or attain a wider variety as suggested in the endogenous growth model (Agnor Montiel, 2015). Enterprises should focus on raising access to factors of production and should efficiently allocate of these resources. Finally, I found several similarities between growth of enterprises and that of organism in the ecosystem. The growth of an organism is limited by its genes or environment. Similarly, the growth of organization limited because of some internal and external factors. Sometime managers with their own choice decides to stop firms growth due to personal cause like issues related to ethic or normative practice or their own lifestyles. Intervention by government and economic shocks are examples are external factors influencing entrepreneurial growth. William Shakespeare William Shakespeare, English playwright and poet recognized in much of the world as the greatest of all dramatists. Shakespeare's plays communicate a profound knowledge of human behavior, revealed through portrayals of a wide variety of characters. His use of poetic and dramatic means to create a unified artistic effect out of several vocal expressions and actions is recognized as a singular achievement, and his use of poetry within his plays to express the deepest levels of human motivation in individual, social, and universal situations is considered one of the greatest accomplishments in literary history. William Shakespeare was born in 1564 in Stratford-on-Avon. No knows the exact date of William's birth, although we do know that he was baptized on Wednesday, April 26, 1564. His father was John Shakespeare, tanner, glover, dealer in grain, and town official of Stratford. William's mother, Mary, was the daughter of Robert Arden, a prosperous gentleman. On November 28, 1582, William Shakespeare and Anne Hathaway entered into a marriage contract. The baptism of their eldest child, Susanna, took place in Stratford in May 1583. One year and nine months later their twins, Hamnet and Judith, were christened in the same church. In 1593, William found a patron, Henry Wriothgley, to sponsor him. During this time, he wrote two long poems. His first long poem, "Venus and Adonius", was written in 1593. In 1594 he wrote his second long poem, "Rape of Lucrece". In London, Shakespeare established himself as an actor who began to write many plays. Shakespeare worked "Lords Chamberlain's Men" company which later became "The King's Men" in 1603 after King James I took over. This company became the largest and most famous acting company, only because Shakespeare worked for them, writing all the plays they performed. They performed these plays by Shakespeare in a well known theater which was called "The Globe" because of it s circular shape. Shakespeare left London in 1611 and retired. On March 25, 1616, Shakespeare made a will and, shortly after he died on April 23, 1616 at the age of 52. Many people believed that Shakespeare knew he was dying; however he didn't want anyone to know that he was. Certainly there are many things about Shakespeare's genius and career which the most diligent scholars do not know and can not explain, but the facts which do exist are sufficient to establish Shakespeare's identity as a man and his authorship of the thirty-seven plays which reputable critics acknowledge to be his. Since the 19th century, Shakespeare's achievements have been more consistently recognized, and throughout the Western world he has come to be regarded as the greatest dramatist ever. ACT I The play's opening lines signal a mood of tension, and they portend disaster for Egeon, a middle-aged merchant from the ancient city of Syracuse on the island of Sicily. The cities of Syracuse and Ephesus are openly hostile toward one another. Captured in Ephesus, Egeon has been condemned to death by the Duke, who urges him to tell the sad story of how he has come to this state. Along with his wife Emilia, identical twin sons both named Antipholus, and identical twin slaves both named Dromio, Egeon some years ago suffered a shipwreck. One son and slave survived with the father; the others, he hoped, survived with the mother. Neither group knew of the other's survival, however, nor of each other's whereabouts, but when Antipholus of Syracuse turned eighteen, his father gave him permission to search for his brother. The worried Egeon then set out after his second son, and after five years of fruitless wandering, he came to Ephesus. Moved by this tale of sadness, the Duke of Ephesus gave Egeon a day, within which time Egeon must raise a thousand marks ransom money. Antipholus of Syracuse takes his leave of a friendly merchant and tells his servant Dromio of Syracuse to take the 1,000 marks he has with him to their lodging for safekeeping. Meanwhile, he tells Dromio he's going to look around the town. Soon Dromio of Ephesus, an exact look-alike of the other Dromio, enters and tells Antipholus of Syracuse, thinking he is Antipholus of Ephesus, to come home for dinner that his wife has been waiting. The Premature Baby essays A preterm or premature delivery is defined as the birth of the baby between the twentieth and the thirty-sixth week of pregnancy. A baby born during this time period is called premature. About 8 to 10 percent of babies in the United States and Canada are classified as premature. Preterm labor occurs because the mother goes into labor early. Most of the time there is no reason for this happening. Sometimes it is associated with the following; multiple pregnancy, abnormally shaped uterus, placenta previa, placenta abruption, high fever in the mother, untreated high blood pressure (toxemia), diabetes, sever infections in the mother, emotional and physical trauma. If a mother goes into preterm labor she has a 25 percent of it happening again. There are many complications the delivery of baby prematurely, some of them include; the lungs may not be fully mature, many complications can also arise from the lungs not being fully mature such as respiratory distress syndrome (RDS), and Bronchol Pulmonary Dysplasia (BPD). Both of these lung diseases can result in long term oxygen administration, and if the baby is out of the hospital re-hospitalization. Other problems with the preterm baby include Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), Patent Ductus Arteriosus, Retinopathy of Prematurity (separation of blood vessels in the eyes), Intraventricular Hemorrhage (IUG), appears in the 30 to 40% of preterm infants usually in the first 72 hours of life. It may range from a Grade I Hemorrhage to a Grade IV hemorrhage. Grade I being the least severe and Grade IV the most severe, also preterm babies are more likely to have jaundice. This report is in three sections the first section gives a brief history of Glanbia its legal form its current size and location around the world, and the products it produces. Workplace Legislation    Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 The key aim of this act is to place broad obligations on employers, employees and the self- employed in relation to safety, health, and welfare matters in all areas of the work place. With the emphasis being on preventing workplace accidents and ill health from occurring by focusing on workplace hazards and putting appropriate precautions in place. Celeron or Pentium II? :: Research Papers

Celeron or Pentium II? The computer industry is flourishing because of the advent of new, powerful processors. Recently, Intel Corp. released its Pentium II-450 MHz chip: the fastest processor on the planet. But because the chip is overpriced, Intel is also marketing the downgraded version of a PII, the inexpensive Celeron-333 which has a 128K cache compared to the PII’s 512K cache. To potential computer buyers, this situation presents a dilemma because they must decide whether to opt for price (i.e. buy the Celeron) or speed (i.e. buy the PII-450). In an attempt to answer this question, Lincoln Spector of PC World and Christopher Yates of PC Week analyze the two chips in their articles entitled "Double Feature" and "Intel Celeron Cache in With New Power," published in October and August of 1998 respectively. In this paper, a rhetorical and discourse analysis will be performed on the two articles to examine the similar and different strategies used by Spector and Yates in presenting their argum ents. The strategies will determine which article is more convincing. Since the articles are present in magazines that pertain to the genre of computer and computer writing, it is first also necessary to analyze the genre. Comparing and contrasting the magazines can obtain an introduction to the way material is presented and organized. The criteria for the analysis include the types of articles present in the magazines. In addition, analyzing the sources of evidence used to support the claims can provide crucial information to the kinds of appeals (i.e. logos, ethos, or pathos) used by the authors writing in the genre of computer writing. Other similar factors such as article length, ads, and the advertisers can also be examined. But the demographic data of the magazines is of utmost importance because it describes the audience and thus, defines the way authors write for their audience. PC World and PC Week have a circulation of 1,125,000 and 305,443 respectively. The former is published monthly and the latter is printed weekly. Eighty-eight percent of the audience of PC World is male and the remainder is female, with ages ranging from 25 to 54 years. Thirteen percent of both magazines' readers are employed by the computer industry, while 59% of PC World's compared to 13% of PC Week's readers work in some sort of management (SRDS 445). But because the chip is overpriced, Intel is also marketing the downgraded version of a PII, the inexpensive Celeron-333 which has a 128K cache compared to the PII’s 512K cache. To potential computer buyers, this situation presents a dilemma because they must decide whether to opt for price (i.e. buy the Celeron) or speed (i.e. buy the PII-450). In an attempt to answer this question, Lincoln Spector of PC World and Christopher Yates of PC Week analyze the two chips in their articles entitled "Double Feature" and "Intel Celeron Cache in With New Power," published in October and August of 1998 respectively. In this paper, a rhetorical and discourse analysis will be performed on the two articles to examine the similar and different strategies used by Spector and Yates in presenting their argum ents. The strategies will determine which article is more convincing. Since the articles are present in magazines that pertain to the genre of computer and computer writing, it is first also necessary to analyze the genre. Comparing and contrasting the magazines can obtain an introduction to the way material is presented and organized. The criteria for the analysis include the types of articles present in the magazines. In addition, analyzing the sources of evidence used to support the claims can provide crucial information to the kinds of appeals (i.e. logos, ethos, or pathos) used by the authors writing in the genre of computer writing. Other similar factors such as article length, ads, and the advertisers can also be examined. But the demographic data of the magazines is of utmost importance because it describes the audience and thus, defines the way authors write for their audience. PC World and PC Week have a circulation of 1,125,000 and 305,443 respectively. The former is published monthly and the latter is printed weekly. Eighty-eight percent of the audience of PC World is male and the remainder is female, with ages ranging from 25 to 54 years. Thirteen percent of both magazines' readers are employed by the computer industry, while 59% of PC World's compared to 13% of PC Week's readers work in some sort of management (SRDS 445).
